The MSc Intelligent Maintenance Engineering degree will prepare students for a thriving career at the heart of the ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution’ as advancements in artificial intelligence and smart machinery transform the way we work forever.

Today’s world demands high efficiency, quality and reliability from industry; products have to be made fast and without defects. This is only possible through the implementation of intelligent maintenance strategy in factories, plants and industry in general. Maintenance strategies are central to the smooth operation of complex industrial processes in a wide range of industries, including the automotive, pharmaceutical, nuclear, petrochemical and aerospace industries.

On this course students will learn how to apply the latest maintenance techniques to increase productivity and reduce intensive labour. As the so-called ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution’ takes shape, industry requires highly skilled professionals who are able to work and interact with automatic processes and machines; this is also true with maintenance.

Maintenance is becoming more automatic and smart, requiring professionals with the skills to deal with Intelligent Systems. New technologies are completely transforming the world we live in, and this course will enable students to take a leading role in Industry 4.0 – students will learn all about machine intelligence, intelligent maintenance engineering, renewable energy technology, condition monitoring systems, and much more.
