Advanced College Diploma - Architectural Technology (3105)

Centennial College - Progress

What you will study

The Architectural Technology program prepares students with advanced knowledge and technical skills to support the design, planning, and construction of residential, commercial, and institutional buildings. Building on foundational architectural concepts, the program focuses on detailed design development, construction documentation, and project coordination.

Students learn to produce comprehensive architectural drawings and specifications using industry-standard tools such as computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM). The curriculum covers structural systems, building materials, construction methods, environmental systems, building codes, and sustainable design practices.

Through studio-based learning and applied projects, students gain experience in developing complete building designs, from concept through to technical documentation. Emphasis is placed on accuracy, problem-solving, collaboration, and adherence to regulatory and professional standards.

Graduates are prepared for roles such as architectural technologist, building designer, CAD/BIM specialist, or construction project coordinator in architectural firms, engineering companies, and the construction industry.
