Overview
The BSc (Hons) Business and FinTech degree is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the rapidly evolving worlds of financial technology and business management. The programme explores emerging technologies such as blockchain, digital currencies, artificial intelligence and machine learning, while encouraging students to apply these concepts to real-world challenges. With a strong emphasis on analytical thinking and problem-solving, graduates are prepared to meet the demands of modern businesses and digitally driven consumers.
The course offers a supportive and engaging learning environment, prioritising students’ academic, personal and professional development. Through a combination of live business challenges, simulations, study abroad opportunities and work placements, students gain valuable hands-on experience. A flexible block delivery model allows learners to balance their studies alongside work commitments, while industry engagement ensures they can build a professional network and develop a portfolio of practical projects relevant to the sector.
Structured to build expertise progressively, the first year provides a solid foundation in business principles, financial systems, data analysis and emerging technologies. In the second year, students focus on more specialised modules, including sustainability management and industry-specific financial systems, alongside a business challenge project that strengthens decision-making and problem-solving skills. The final year enables students to deepen their knowledge of financial technologies, investment portfolio design and risk assessment, preparing them to apply innovative financial solutions in real-world organisational contexts. Opportunities for placements, internships and international study further enhance employability and global perspective.
The program offers study abroad opportunity, allowing students to gain international experience and enhance their academic profile. Typically undertaken between the second and final year, this experience enables students to live and study in another country, helping them develop global perspectives and stand out to future employers in an increasingly international job market. Students can choose from a wide network of partner universities across regions including the USA, Canada, Asia, Africa, Australia, South America and Europe. Those who undertake the study abroad year are not required to pay tuition fees to either the host institution or their home university, and they receive guidance to support their decision and preparation during their second year of study.
