2-Term Pathway - Engineering and Physical Sciences Foundation Certificate - Transfer to Master of Science (Honours) - Physics - Medical Physics

Program Description If a student has finished high school but does not meet the entry requirements for university, a Foundation Certificate can help them to gain entry to an undergraduate degree. Admission to the University of Nottingham can be gained through a pathway course at the University of Nottingham International College. Students will be part of a large international student population at the University of Nottingham. It is a member of the elite Russell Group, and is consistently ranked among the world’s best schools.

Nottingham is home to Nobel Prize-winning research and the popular Sixty Symbols YouTube channel.

The Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre is home to the university’s MRI scanners, and is named after a colleague who won the Nobel Prize for his part in its invention.

Tailored modules such as Functional Medical Imaging and Molecular Biophysics will give students a specialist understanding of medical physics. This course will give students real practical experience of medical physics at the Queens Medical Centre hospital.

The fourth year consists of student-centred learning with synoptic modules. Students will focus their study on fewer but more specialised areas and complete a year-long research project. Under the guidance of expert staff students will benefit from a range of learning styles. These include group work, delivering seminars, projects and independent learning.
