Master of Science - Marketing (2 Year)

Nottingham Trent University - City Campus

What you will study

Program Description Today's marketers need to be adept in a range of areas from analysing market trends to developing strong marketing strategies and effective product development processes. Understanding the theory and frameworks that underpin contemporary marketing thinking is critical. Created in close consultation with the marketing industry and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Nottingham Trent University's MSc Marketing degree develops the strengths, abilities and understanding that employers are looking for.

Through interactive and applied learning, the student will look at the fundamental issues and concepts of marketing practice, examine consumer markets and behaviours that influence global strategies, and understand the role of marketers in product innovation. In their third semester, the student will choose an experiential project. With the opportunity to use their skills in a real-world setting, the student can choose from completing a consultancy experience project, an internship experience project, or a business research project.

This course is aimed at students from a range of backgrounds who don't necessarily have a background in marketing. Whether they want to work for a major international organisation or small-scale start-ups, Nottingham Trent University's MSc Marketing degree will ensure the students learn the theory, tools and techniques needed to develop into an effective marketing professional ready to operate at strategic and tactical levels in industry.

Students starting their Masters in September can apply for the two-year option where they can add a year’s work placement onto the course. It’s a great way to put learning into practice and gain valuable real-world experience to help boost career prospects once graduating.

The placement year will last up to 48 weeks (minimum 36 weeks). If students are unable to take a full year's placement, but have completed the minimum 36 weeks, they can qualify for a Placement Diploma in Industrial Experience. If students undertake a placement, they must take up the Business Research Project in Semester Three.

Please be advised that this programme has a placement year.
