Bachelor of Science - Civil Engineering

The curriculum of California State University East Bay's Civil Engineering program has been designed to address the growing need for professionals with a strong background in civil infrastructure design and construction engineering to deal with the growing needs for new infrastructure and maintenance in California. The curriculum has been vetted by civil engineering leaders in the private and public sector to cover the special knowledge areas, such as highway and bridge design, environmental issues and green building, building information modeling, and construction management.

The San Francisco Bay Area is a prime location for offering such a degree. There is a large concentration of major civil engineering and construction firms in this part of the state. With new spending by the state on transportation projects, it is expected that there will be significant new demand for professionals capable of designing and managing large construction projects.
