Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Biomedical Science

Accredited by the Royal Society of Biology, this accredited Biomedical Science degree will readily prepare students for their future career.

With a huge emphasis on practice, a degree in Biomedical Science will introduce students to a range of vitals skills needed for various sectors. From diagnostic techniques to blood group testing, students will start to build an evidenced portfolio from Year 1, illustrating their skills, knowledge and understanding.

As the course progresses, the practical elements of this degree will always equate to over half of the course structure. Students will then focus on their chosen area in Year 3. Not only will students become a competent and confident biomedical scientist, they’ll do so using research-based, up-to-date theoretical knowledge. Whatever route students choose to take, they’ll learn using an interactive, multi-disciplinary approach to ensure they gain a rich learning experience while they’re with Canterbury Christ Church.

Students will also interact with professionals through the career’s fairs and partnership with Discovery Park. Many of the teaching staff are active in their industry and have worked with companies such as Mylan and Genea. Students can too, through the work placement module and work experience opportunities through the collaborative scientific community at Discovery Park, Sandwich.
