What you will study
Program Description This two year course builds on the knowledge and skills needed for working with children and young people from birth to age 19. This is a competency based qualification requiring students to achieve 700 hours in a work placement. Areas of study include:
• Principles and values
• Safeguarding • Health and wellbeing, learning and development • Professional practice • Ilness and infection • Speech, language and communications skills • Positive behaviour.
Learners will also complete the Level 2 Children’s Care, Play, Learning and Development: Core Qualification alongside this qualification. Learners who wish to progress to higher education will complete the Level 3 Welsh Baccalaureate, thereby completing the equivalent of three A Levels.
