Bachelor of Laws (Honours) - Law and Criminal Justice (M190)

Kingston University London - Penrhyn Road

What you will study

This course will enable students to study the foundations of legal knowledge required as part of the training for the Bar. They will also critically engage with the legal system itself and develop an understanding of the principles underpinning crime control; as well as the practice of law and the implementation of criminal justice in real world situations.

Students will gain skills in analysis and evidence evaluation, project management and communication. They will hear from practitioners who work in the criminal justice system and have opportunities to conduct field work in areas of law and criminal justice that most interest them, in order to root their classroom learning in practical experience.

The course provides the foundational legal knowledge as defined by the Bar Standards Board (BSB) and the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) to pursue training in the legal profession. Students will learn about the criminal justice system and debate the application of justice in a case study approach. They will gain vital skills in dispute resolution, project management and communication.
