Program Description Promoting independent learning and built around increasing employability skills, the course begins with the foundation of accounting and finance alongside business fundamentals, going on to deliver an in-depth knowledge of how companies use accounting and finance to make decisions and report performance under conditions of uncertainty and risk.

The full-time BSc Accounting with Finance course is delivered in an interactive way with a real world focus; face-to-face learning is supported by online resources, including the Financial Times, case studies, simulations, learning videos, reading materials, online testing and feedback.

The Accounting with Finance degree is ideal for those interested in a future professional career in accounting, finance, audit and taxation, and acts as a foundation for further study in accounting or finance at postgraduate or professional level. This undergraduate Accounting with Finance programme focuses on modern accountancy concentrating on teamwork, real-world case studies and developing strategy from financial data.

This degree is designed for those with an interest in accounting and finance. During the first year, students will develop a solid understanding of the fundamentals of accounting and finance. Years two and three will explore how organisations use accounting and finance practices to make sensible predictions and sound business decisions in an ever-changing business landscape.

As part of the curriculum, in addition to accounting and finance knowledge, students will also develop the skills demanded by today’s business employer including critical analysis, leadership, team working, communication and presentation skills.

Recognised by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), successful completion of this undergraduate degree will exempt you from 9 of the 13 ACCA exams, accelerating career ambitions of becoming a chartered accountant.

Students will undertake a Placement Year working for an employer. With the supervision and support of academics, a Placement Year gives students the chance to gain real world experience, develop leadership skills, and take a significant first step into the highly competitive business world.
