What you will study

TAFE NSW's Certificate IV in Residential Drafting teaches students practical skills for working effectively in a building design environment.

This includes using computer-aided design (CAD) software to produce drawings and compliant documentation, using building information modelling (BIM) capable software, and creating digital 3-D models of building designs.

During this course, students will also benefit from simulated work environments where they can practise their new skills and develop their portfolio of work to take into the industry.

Graduates of this course can go on to draftsperson roles or pursue further study to become an accredited building designer.
