Bachelor of Laws - Law - History

Canterbury Christ Church University

What you will study

Study Law with History and join a challenging, vibrant and friendly community, led by an experienced team of academics, practitioners, solicitors, barristers and international lawyers.

This Law degree will enable students to progress to the vocational stage of lawyer’s training, to qualify as either a solicitor or barrister. This original and innovative course has been designed in consultation with senior managers to give them both a theoretical and practical experience.

As part of their degree, students will have the option to get involved with practical justice including opportunities to shadow a local judge and experience live mediations from the in-house Medication Clinic. Through the strong links with the local community, Citizens Advice, and local courts, students will have the opportunity to act as a Community Legal Companion for unrepresented parties at court. This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on work experience in a legal setting. By studying Law with History, students can gain a sound understanding of law while expanding their knowledge of history.

Students will be challenged to develop both academically and professionally through a combination of theoretical learning and practical skills development. Students will learn in a supportive, collaborative and friendly community environment.
