Overview

Not everyone takes the same route into university, and that’s ok. Whether students have completed a HND and want to top-up to a full degree, or they have completed two years of Civil Engineering elsewhere and are ready to finish their degree with us, then look no further. This course gives them the opportunity to complete their journey and achieve their goals.

In the top-up year, students will study third year modules from our Civil Engineering (BEng hons) degree, equipping them with the specialist knowledge and practical skills demanded in civil engineering.

Civil Engineering plays a vital role in our society, we design, build and maintain infrastructure that improves lives. Roads, bridges, canals, dams and buildings have all have an integral part in our built environment. Civil Engineering is a broad area with a number of specialisms and students will be able to develop the knowledge and skills in our programme. Our course is very practical and hands-on, our teaching is strongly driven by what we need in the industry, we embed sustainability, technology and software throughout our curriculum.
