Master of Arts (Honours) - Russian Studies and Spanish (RR74)
The University of Edinburgh
What you will study
The joint honors program offers individuals the opportunity to acquire proficiency in two of the most widely spoken languages in the world, within their respective global cultural contexts.
With a combined total of over 500 million speakers, Russian and Spanish hold significant linguistic influence. Spanish, in particular, extends beyond Europe and is spoken in numerous countries across Latin America and the Caribbean. Additionally, both languages are gaining traction in the United States and China.
No prior knowledge of either language is required to enroll in this program. Through intensive language study, including a year abroad, participants will have the chance to develop advanced oral and written skills in both Russian and Spanish.
Furthermore, alongside language classes, students will delve into the intricacies of Russophone and Hispanic cultures. This exploration encompasses literature, film, and theatre from various regions worldwide, all examined within historical, political, and social contexts.
