Master of Human Kinetics (Honors) - Sport Management and Leadership (MSML) students are critical thinkers and future leaders. Graduates become registered kinesiologists, physicians, physiotherapists, teachers, researchers, fitness trainers, marketing managers, coaches, and general managers of pro sports teams. Focusing on the “human” aspect of movement science and active living equips students to lead in health and various sectors. They will appreciate the faculty's family feel and gain hands-on experience through co-op, internships, community outreach, and research with leading scientists in advanced labs. Students will learn to: • Understand health and fitness theories and current kinesiology trends
• Create and evaluate injury prevention and rehabilitation plans based on best practices
• Develop marketing, financial, organizational, and operational plans in sport and recreation informed by research
• Conduct effective physical risk assessments for various activities
• Organize physical activity programs for diverse demographics
• Conduct research using modern methodologies and critically evaluate findings
The Internship program allows students to pursue course work and an internship (360 hours) in the sport and recreation sector. Applicants are not required to select a faculty advisor when applying to this program option.
