Overview

The Pre-Masters Programme is a fast-track programme, designed for students who would like to gain the specialist skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their Masters degree at Liverpool John Moores University. Students will build on the knowledge gained in their undergraduate studies, whilst developing their practical English language abilities, as well as study and research skills.

The Pre-Masters in Business, Management & Law will introduce students to the legal world and the world of business. Through the use of application learned in modules, students will come to gain valuable insights that will key to their chosen progression degree.

As part of the Pre-Masters Programme in Business, Management and Law students will:

• gain an understanding of the analysis of academic concepts and issues relating to operations management, organisational strategy and organisational behaviour with an emphasis on critically evaluating ideas and applications • identify the limitations of business models and management theory • complete a subject related research project • if students take the Law route, they will study the principles of legal methods, legal argument and legal concepts are outlined, and they are encouraged to develop skills in legal argument.

Liverpool John Moores University's International Business and Management Masters programme is delivered by specialist academics with expert knowledge of how to deploy and manage global strategies. On this course, students will: • Develop the skills and knowledge required for a successful career in international business management • Enjoy a rich cultural experience working alongside students from around the world, offering a great opportunity to expand their cross-cultural communication skills and understanding different global business perspectives • Benefit from innovative learning and teaching approaches applying theoretical concepts through contemporary business simulations • Study in Liverpool, a key city for international business and trade and a truly global commercial setting • This course is also available as a 2 year MSc with Advanced Practice which includes a Business Consultancy Project supported by industry mentors • Study the 'Microeconomics of Competitiveness' module designed by Harvard Business School and delivered by Dr Moustafa Haj Youssef, an official affiliate of the MOC-Harvard network.

This course will open up a wealth of global opportunities providing the range of knowledge necessary to negotiate between countries, cultures, political and economic systems and other commercial borders. Completing this MSc will take students to the next level of academic achievement. Students will develop their skills in leadership and strategy, and gain valuable business acumen needed to be an effective global management professional.
