Overview
If students hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, but don’t meet the entry requirements for a master’s, a Pre-Master’s can help them gain a place on a postgraduate degree. For progression to the 1st year of a postgraduate degree at the University of Essex. Course length is determined mainly by students' English language level (UKVI IELTS score).
Students on all course lengths take a set of common or similar modules to gain a solid base of skills for university. If their course is longer than 2 terms, students will take additional modules designed to improve one or more of their English language level, academic skills, and basic knowledge of particular subjects.
Master of Science - International Marketing and Entrepreneurship
Essex's MSc International Marketing and Entrepreneurship explores the theoretical and practical approaches to marketing planning, strategy, communications and customer-centred business. Students do not need to have previously studied marketing to undertake this course.
Students examine how these topics apply to public and private organisations in varying stages of formation, growth or change management, in different international and cultural environments. Essex exposes students to cutting-edge marketing techniques, encourages their creativity and develops their critical thinking, analytical, strategic and leadership skills.
Topics include: • the marketing communications mix, including: advertising; public relations; personal selling; sales promotion and direct marketing
• marketing strategies, including product, pricing, promotion and distribution strategies • marketing planning and implementation • new product development • supply chain management and operations • branding • ethical issues • theories and practices of entrepreneurship
