Overview

In grade 11, students explore the arts, Canadian and world studies, classical studies, computer studies, international languages, health and physical education, interdisciplinary studies, mathematics, native languages, native studies, the sciences (biology, chemistry, earth and space science, environmental science, and physics), social sciences and humanities, and technological education. Ridley equips Upper School students to deal with the daily demands of life and learning by creating an environment that:

• Generates positive emotions • Practices mindfulness • Builds on strengths not deficits • Models grit and resilience • Nurtures positive relationships • Encourages goal setting and accomplishments • Fuels our vitality

Upper School academics are made up of challenging curricula; a combination of the Ontario secondary school requirements, the IB Middle Years Programme, and an option IB Diploma Programme. This combination prepares students to meet the challenges of higher education at the most selective colleges and universities around the world. The IB programme enhances the individual learning process by providing a unique inquiry-based education that inspires students to: • Think independently and drive their own learning • Become more culturally aware • Be able to engage with people in an increasingly globalized, rapidly changing society

The unique IB framework equips students to take an analytical approach to learning beyond academic study. It prepares them to apply the skills they have learned to address any issue or situation they encounter in their life and in the community in which they live. Tuition: The listed numbers represent the cost of 1 year of study at Ridley College. This estimate includes the base tuition as well as the boarding fees.
