2-Term Pathway - International Incorporated Master's (IIM) - Continue to Master of Science - Sustainability and Water Security

The Pre-Masters program is designed for students who do not qualify for direct entry to a postgraduate degree at the University of Dundee. This may be due to the grades achieved in their undergraduate degree, their current qualifications not being equivalent to a UK undergraduate degree, or a desire to improve their academic and English language skills.

The Pre-Masters course will equip students with the advanced skills necessary to complete their postgraduate study at the University of Dundee. They can choose to study over one or two terms, depending on their academic qualifications and English language level. The one-term option offers a fast track route to their chosen degree course and is studied over three months. The two-term option is studied over six months and provides additional academic English and subject-related support.

Sustainability and Water Security Securing access to clean water for all is a Sustainable Development Goal and one of the most important sustainability questions worldwide.

Students will develop the ability to analyze, evaluate, and critically review theory and policy debates related to sustainability. They will draw on international perspectives and examples of best practices in evaluating and assessing water sustainability.

Participants will design and plan interventions aimed at promoting greater water security across different scales and regions, including post-conflict areas. Additionally, they will design and complete a dissertation that addresses significant aspects of the theory and practice of water management, working under the supervision of leading experts in the field.

This course will be taught in close cooperation with the University’s world-leading Centre for Water Law, Policy, and Science (a UNESCO category 2 Water Centre).
