Overview
In the Master of Research - Cancer Biology program, students are guided by researchers who have made significant contributions to the field of cancer biology through extensive publications. These educators also maintain strong research connections with Brain Tumour North West and Royal Preston Hospital.
The program begins with three months of engaging lectures, tutorials, and hands-on lab work, followed by a six-month independent laboratory-based research project. During this time, students work closely under the guidance of active cancer researchers, gaining invaluable experience.
The research themes explored in this program include the analysis of phytochemicals for cancer treatment, the development and characterization of innovative drug delivery systems, the potential of aspirin analogues in glioma treatment, the use of aptamers as both diagnostic and therapeutic agents for brain tumors, and the synthesis of bioactive molecules with anticancer properties.
