Master of Science - Physiotherapy
Coventry University (Part of Coventry University Group)
What you will study
The course emphasises the four pillars of both physiotherapy and the NHS practice, working with acute patients, those managing long-term conditions and supporting preventative health. It aims to enhance student's prior learning, preparing them for work in the UK and abroad. As a qualified physiotherapist, students will have the opportunity to apply their previous learning and experience to expand their skill set and develop leadership skills and an entrepreneurial mindset. Expands their clinical reasoning, problem-solving and decision-making skills and evidence-informed practice, through research-inspired teaching and the use of industry-standard facilities, such as simulation. Empower themselves with a deeper understanding of health and care practices and the scope of practice for physiotherapists in the UK. This course offers qualified physiotherapists the opportunity to engage in postgraduate studies, either following completion of an undergraduate programme, or after having gained professional work experience. As a full-time postgraduate student will study modules totalling 180 credits each academic year. A typical 30-credit module requires a total of 300 hours of study. Study hours are made up of teaching contact hours, and guided and independent study. Throughout their studies, they will be expected to spend time in guided and independent study to make up the required study hours per module. They will be digging deeper into topics, reviewing what they have learnt and completing assignments. This can be completed around their personal commitments. As they progress to the end of their studies, they will spend more time on independent learning.
