Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Engineering Physics (F311)

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Engineering Physics applies physical principles to engineering and technology, equipping students with the fundamentals of physics and drawing on Loughborough University's well-established expertise in engineering to help them engineer solutions to real-world problems. Many technologies from the simple lightbulb through to all aspects of the modern smartphone would simply not exist without the profound connection behind engineering physics. Studying Engineering Physics will equip students with a variety of skills that have many exciting real-world technical applications.

Loughborough University's Engineering Physics program builds on the core Physics course with streamed engineering content (selected at the end of Year 1) to ensure a coherent strong development in the student's chosen engineering specialization, with a flavour easily recognizable to employers. The department offers streams in materials engineering, electrical engineering, and mechanical and manufacturing engineering.

Throughout the Engineering Physics course students will combine the study of physics with the study of modern engineering methods and supporting mathematics, allowing them to immerse themselves in innovative projects with the support of the brand-new world-class facilities and equipment offered by STEM Lab. Loughborough University's STEM Lab will provide students with unique opportunities to undertake innovative engineering physics projects supported by facilities across disciplines such as electrical engineering, materials science and additive manufacture - at one of the United Kingdom's leading universities for engineering.
