The Dental Office Administration program prepares graduates to manage the daily operations of a dental office, including maintaining patient care records, handling health insurance claims, and coordinating appointment scheduling. The program focuses on developing organizational, administrative, and communication skills required to ensure efficient and effective office management within a dental setting.
The program is delivered through a combination of synchronous and asynchronous online learning, allowing it to be completed fully remotely. It includes more than 250 hours of hands-on experience in a dental office, providing practical exposure to real-world work environments. The program is well regarded among community employers and offers graduates the opportunity to become eligible for the dental receptionist certification examination through the Ontario Dental Assistants Association.
Graduates of this program can pursue various career opportunities within the dental and healthcare sectors. Potential roles include clerical staff in dental public health departments, customer service representatives in dental offices or insurance companies, dental office administrators, and receptionists.
