What you will study

Biomedical sciences is a growing interdisciplinary field of study aimed at understanding fundamental processes of life, applied sciences and application of this knowledge to medicine, human health, and related research. Biomedical scientists integrate knowledge from numerous fields of study such as physiology, anatomy, pathophysiology and paraclinical science. Through interprofessional collaboration, biomedical scientists create, revise and implement innovative methods of preventing disease, diagnosing health concerns, analyzing current and potential analysis tools, and treatment options for various disorders and diseases.

The Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences program provides students with the education, knowledge, skills and hands-on experience through classroom work and through a summer field experience.

The program plays a significant role in developing skilful graduates who, in turn, contribute to the development of new therapies and approaches targeted to enhance human health and wellness. Graduates of the Biomedical Sciences program may also choose to pursue higher and specialized education through masters and doctoral degrees, as well as medical school, dentistry or pharmacy to name a few.
