This two-year diploma uniquely integrates reproductive and end-of-life doula practice, preparing graduates to support individuals and families from first to last breath, including abortion, birth, post-partum, end-of-life, and bereavement. It builds on Fanshawe’s Doula Studies certificate, providing a pathway to this diploma. Student will learn to support families through all reproductive options and life transitions, from preconception to death. The program emphasizes the doula’s role in the health care system, offering theoretical and practical experience in advocacy, trauma-informed care, reproductive justice, and ethical client-centered practices. Doulas are often self-employed and must promote their services effectively. They will learn to establish the business, develop marketing strategies, utilize social media, and build professional collaborations.
