Doctor of Philosophy - Occupational Therapy

The PhD in Occupational Therapy offers students a unique opportunity to undertake research in a variety of health and organisational contexts. Students may be interested in sensory integration outcomes for adults following brain injury, management of people experiencing dementia in their local communities or occupational justice issues in exploited or minority populations; but whatever their specific research interests, the university is likely to have a supervisor with the experience to support them in this process.

Students will be offered opportunities to access University of Essex Masters level research methods modules to provide a sound foundation of specific research knowledge and skills. In addition, they will have access to the University's Proficio research training scheme which allows them to choose training programmes that meet the requirements of their own research topics and methodologies.
