What you will study

Studying philosophy allows individuals to contemplate some of the great philosophical questions in a clear, disciplined, and systematic manner.

Philosophy: • Introduces individuals to the thinking of notable philosophers from the past and present.

• Sheds light on the connections between various areas of human experience. • Enhances individuals' awareness of the assumptions that underlie their beliefs.

In the first year, students will undertake three mandatory courses:

• Greats: From Plato to the Enlightenment

• Morality and Value • Logic 1

These courses provide an introduction to key subjects such as:

• The history of philosophy

• Morality and ethics • The nature of argument
