Individuals seeking a distinctive, rewarding, and challenging career where their investigative skills can be applied in the private sector of law enforcement can pursue their goals through Niagara College’s Protection, Security and Investigation (Private Security) program.
Graduates of the program develop critical thinking, research, and interviewing skills that enable them to effectively respond to potential threats to organizations and private citizens.
Program Highlights
• Curriculum taught by former police officers with extensive investigative and operational experience. • Practical, in-field experience gained through volunteer opportunities with local service agencies. • Hands-on experiential learning in the Justice Studies Simulation Lab. • Students who successfully complete first year and the First Aid course are eligible to write the Ontario Security Guard licensing exam. • Graduates or students in their final level can earn a Police Foundations or Community and Justice Services (Correctional Worker) diploma with an additional eight months of study, based on available space and admission requirements.
