Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Fine Art (Foundation Year) (W122)
London Metropolitan University - Aldgate
What you will study
In the foundation year, students will undertake intensive studio workshops that will allow them to develop a range of skills and techniques that students will be able to take with them into the following years of their fine art degree.
During these workshops students will have the opportunity to explore observational drawing, creative drawing, painting, conceptual modelling, practical making, performance, colour, materials, process, collage, composition curating, exhibiting and more. They’ll also work on interpretative projects that will enable them to establish their own artistic style and forge a clear direction.
Tutors will introduce students to the skills and work ethic they’ll need to study fine art at undergraduate level and also encourage students to be experimental in their approach to fine art projects.
Towards the end of their foundation year, they’ll work on subject-specific projects that will strengthen their independence as an artist and allow them to further show off their creativity.
An International Bright Futures Scholarship in the amount of £3,000 will automatically be applied to eligible students with overseas fee status starting a degree with London Met in the 2024/25 academic year. This scholarship includes a tuition fee reduction for the duration of students' studies and is applicable to both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Tuition Deposit is £4,000 for all students excluding those from Punjab and Haryana for whom the deposit amount will remain at 50%
