Pathway to Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology

Prepare yourself for a Canadian college or university and improve students English skills to meet post secondary language requirements. Students will learn the skills needed to succeed in degree and college level courses and receive a Conditional Letter of Acceptance to respected colleges and universities.

The Pathway Programs provide: • Monitoring of academic performance and on-going academic counselling • Information sessions by select colleges for students. • A bridge program with Booth University College for students to study English before their Fall term begins

Pathway Program requirements: • Students must indicate that they are pathway on their application and the college they are intending to attend. • Students much complete a minimum of 10 weeks in the level required to meet the college level requirement. • If students test into a lower level than the one they require for the pathway, they must complete 10 weeks of the lower level and then the 10 weeks in the level required to complete the Pathway program. Please note that this means students could spend 10 – 30 or more weeks depending on their English level when they begin. Please account for students time at Heartland accordingly.

Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology (MITT) provides secondary and post-secondary students with applied skills training for careers in Health Care and Human Services, Information and Business Technology and Skilled Trades. Direct entry available into MITT programs after meeting the completion requirements for Advanced I (TOEFL IBT 70; IELTS 5.5) or Advanced II (TOEFL IBT 90; IELTS 6.0) of the Intensive English Program (with an average of 80%) at Heartland International English School.
