Bachelor of Arts - Business and Social Entrepreneurship
St. Thomas University (CAN)
What you will study
The Business and Social Entrepreneurship program combines business fundamentals with the core skills and knowledge required to drive social change. The program integrates social and environmental values with both theoretical and practical skills that prepare students to create, develop, or contribute to social enterprises or nonprofit organizations after graduation. This program is distinctive—no other university in Atlantic Canada offers an undergraduate Interdisciplinary Studies major focused on Business and Social Entrepreneurship. Through coursework, students apply theory and research to build knowledge and understanding while gaining practical skills in areas such as: • Marketing • Strategy • Board Governance • Fundraising • Sales
What Sets STU’s Business and Social Entrepreneurship Program Apart? • The program approaches the study of business with a focus on maximizing social benefits for communities and society as a whole. • It features small, engaging classes that emphasize personal interaction and collaborative learning, along with hands-on experiences through the Social Enterprise Work-Study Placement. • Students also benefit from a comprehensive paid internship program offered through the Office of Experiential Learning, which provides opportunities to apply their skills and knowledge in real-world settings. • All courses are taught by professors—rather than teaching assistants—ensuring that students learn directly from experts in the field.
