The 8-month Ontario College Certificate in Medical Office Practices suits students aiming for front-line roles in medical, dental, or wellness offices, or clerical support in long-term care or insurance. They learn medical terminology, computer tech, and office practices essential to busy offices. Using industry EMR software and a simulated environment, students practice tasks like scheduling, billing, and document production, while improving communication and customer service skills. After completion, students can apply to the second year of the Health Office Administration diploma with advanced standing. Student may enter the second year of the Health Office Administration diploma or seek roles such as administrative assistant, medical administrative assistant, health information management, office support, or data entry clerk. Student will learn medical terms, computer skills, and office practices essential for medical, dental, and wellness offices. Using EMR software and simulations, they will practice tasks like patient scheduling, billing, medical document creation, and develop professional communication and customer service skills.
