Overview

Combine your passion for business and agriculture with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science, with a focus on Agribusiness Management. The University of Central Missouri’s undergraduate degree in Agribusiness covers everything from the field to the table to the boardroom — helping them gain knowledge and skills related to agricultural production, finance, management and marketing.

An Agribusiness degree that brings together operating techniques and business acumen

The agricultural industry faces complex and multifaceted challenges today. The industry needs professionals with both business and agriculture savvy, so that farms grow, harvest, manufacture and distribute commodities on time.

Our undergraduate program provides them with a solid foundation in agricultural sciences, business, economics and statistics to prepare for Agribusiness degree jobs in farming, natural resources and government.

An Agribusiness degree with online courses

Besides the traditional full-time program on our Warrensburg campus, we offer some classes online. They also have the option of enrolling part time for added flexibility in completing their bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness.

Pursuing agribusiness careers means applying business and economic principles to the production and marketing of food and agricultural products, as well as the management of natural resources.

Agribusiness management students take coursework in commodity and futures trading, distribution and marketing of agricultural products and financial analysis. Practical, real-world experiential learning is a foundation of the Agribusiness management program. They'll take courses such as:

• Agribusiness Management: Choose a company and identify market structures, study product lines and perform SWOT analyses to define strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. • Agriculture Policy: In this upper-level course, they analyze a bill being debated in the Missouri state legislature to determine its economic impacts if it becomes law.
