What you will study
Specialising in international business, students will focus on the ways businesses operate differently in home and overseas markets. The University of Roehampton's International Business BSc will provide students with the skills and experience to work in an international business. Students will graduate a confident, independent thinker, with the skills to adapt rapidly to change, and a detailed knowledge of international business and cross-cultural management. This degree will give students an in-depth knowledge of organisations and their environments, including their relationships to society. Specialising in international business, students will focus on the ways businesses operate differently in home and overseas markets. Developing an understanding of areas such as managing people, operations, logistics, marketing and finance, students will also learn about what businesses need to do to operate ethically and effectively in a culturally diverse environment. In readiness for the students' future career, students will acquire key attributes employers value, such as commercial acumen, self-reflection and emotional intelligence, alongside skills in research, numeracy, project management and leadership. Students will finish the course confident in their personal values, with the knowledge and experience to solve business problems ethically, and an ongoing passion for personal and professional development. This course offers all students the option of a one-year paid work placement, to boost their employability even further. If students choose this route, they will take the placement following year two of their course, and then return to complete their degree.
