What you will study
This programme adopts an interdisciplinary approach by integrating finance, technology, and regulatory studies to provide a holistic understanding of Fintech. Traditional finance modules are blended with learning about the evolution and theories of data-driven financial modelling, data mining, machine learning, and recent innovations such as AI and cloud computing.
Students will be taught by industry experts with extensive experience in big data management, machine learning, computer programming, and blockchain technology. They will also gain broader employability skills, including problem-solving, analysis, teamwork, programming, and financial knowledge.
A particular focus of the programme is its commitment to the development and application of values, skills, knowledge, and behaviours that will enable students to contribute to the development of a just, peaceful, and sustainable world. Upon graduation, students will be equipped with a diverse skill set, preparing them to enter industry or pursue progression to a PhD.
Key features include the opportunity to use one of the largest trading floors in UK higher education, which provides access to live trading data from various Stock Exchanges worldwide via Bloomberg and LSEG—technology used by finance professionals around the globe.
