What you will study

University Pathways Fast Track at RMIT UP is an accelerated pathway designed for high-achieving international students, preparing them for university in half the time of a Foundation Studies course. Delivered over one semester by RMIT UP (CRICOS provider number: 01912G), a fully owned entity of RMIT University, the program equips students with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for future academic success.

Located in the heart of Melbourne, RMIT UP’s specialist staff support students throughout their journey, while providing opportunities to build global and social networks that contribute to success at RMIT and beyond.

To ensure students get the best start to their studies, RMIT offers careers counselling, as well as academic and welfare support services that can be accessed flexibly.

University Pathways Fast Track features focused, discipline-based streams, allowing students to align their studies with their interests and goals. Available streams include STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), Art, Design and Architecture, Business, and Communication and Social Context.

Prospective students are encouraged to contact an RMIT international advisor for assistance with their application and to determine the most suitable study option.

Bachelor of Computer Science - Professional (BP347) (110798H) RMIT’s Bachelor of Computer Science (Professional) enables students to explore the rapidly expanding field of computer science, build in-demand skills and tailor their studies to suit their interests.

The program is designed to provide a comprehensive skill set spanning theoretical and algorithmic foundations through to advanced and emerging developments in computing.

This four-year degree comprises three years of study followed by a one-year industry internship in the final year, organised with the support of the School of Computing Technologies. The internship offers a valuable opportunity for students to develop professional and technical skills while expanding their professional networks.

Through RMIT’s innovative programming bootcamps and studios, students develop strong programming capabilities and learn to design, implement and maintain complex software systems that underpin mobile devices, social media platforms and intelligent technologies.

Students also gain an in-depth understanding of systems infrastructure, software methods and technologies, and application development.

With strong demand for computer science professionals, graduates are well prepared for a range of career opportunities, including roles such as analyst/programmer, software developer, web and mobile programmer, ICT security specialist and research scientist.
