What you will study
Program Description Fashion is an international industry, influencing a growing number of products and services. This distinctive program helps students to develop both traditional and digital skills and expertise in fashion brand development and communication to succeed in this exciting and dynamic industry.
The program explores the key aspects of international fashion branding through both traditional and digital practices. Students will gain a thorough understanding of areas such as brand management and marketing, fashion brand development and promotion, fashion buying and visual merchandising in retail, and sustainable fashion. In year 4, students will gain a strategic view of the fashion industry, with a focus on internationalisation strategy within the context of communication and branding.
Students are supported as they discover and develop their digital skills in an increasingly popular and important part of fashion brand development in the industry, with fashion creation software such as Adobe Creative Suite and Lectra. This provides students with relevant industry skills and allows them to develop a portfolio of creative work across all four years of study.
The department works hard to organise guest lectures from fashion practitioners and industry leaders to talk to students, giving them an invaluable insight into the connection between theory and practice. The department have strong links with a wide range of major fashion companies, including: Cruise, USC, House of Fraser, Reiss, John Lewis, Schuh, Johnstones of Elgin, Eleganza Sposa, Strathberry, M&Co, 18 Montrose, Next, GANT and Cortefiel.
