Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Geography with Economics (Placement Year) (LL18)

Loughborough University's Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Geography with Economics combines a focus on the social and physical processes affecting the rapidly changing planet, as well developing students' knowledge and understanding of economics. This combined honours course is taught in partnership with one of the United Kingdom’s leading Schools of Business and Economics. Skills acquisition and assessment are increasingly important for employment prospects and these are given prominence throughout the course.

The geography modules span human and physical geography in the first year ensuring students have a sound understanding of how social and physical processes vary within the context of places and regions. In second and final years of the Geography with Economics course students can specialise in either human or physical geography if they wish, or continue to maintain a balance between the two. Alongside the geography component, they will spend one-third of their time studying economics. Although the emphasis is largely on geography, in the first year of the course students will develop a basic understanding of economics, building a foundation from which they can build on in later years through a range of optional modules.
