Master of Science - Drug Discovery

Student will gain insight into various stages of the drug discovery process, starting from target identification, drug synthesis, and biological evaluation, all the way to considering intellectual property and clinical treatment.

Experts from the School of Pharmacy and the School of Life Sciences will provide instruction, drawing on multidisciplinary expertise. The School of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, holds a joint 1st position in the UK for Research Environment in the Research Excellence Framework 2021.

Research conducted by both schools has had a significant impact on global healthcare. Recent achievements include the development of a materials discovery platform for enhanced biomedical devices, cost-saving initiatives for the NHS through expanded pharmacy services, and advocacy for community pharmacies as vaccination centers for influenza and COVID-19 on an international scale.
