College Certificate - Pre-Health Sciences - Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees (PHS2) & College Diploma - Pharmacy Technician (PTN1)

Pre-Health Sciences - Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees (PHS2): The Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees program provides students with the opportunity to study subject areas relevant to health career programs at Fanshawe College and to instill an appreciation of the professional roles, responsibilities and academic requirements of health care disciplines.

The goal of the program is to prepare students for their chosen health career program. Students will be prepared to enter other programs within the School of Health Sciences or pursue their education at other institutions

College Diploma - Pharmacy Technician (PTN1):

The program uses innovative delivery methods to help students with different learning styles acquire the knowledge and practical skills to succeed. Students will begin by developing foundational knowledge of a wide-variety of pharmaceutical and self-care products, as well as key business concepts and institutional procedures. They will also learn how to write for the health sciences field, while studying anatomy and pharmaceutical mathematics.

Students will gain specialized practical skills – including how to safely and efficiently prepare both sterile and non-sterile products – by working in Fanshawe College’s state-of-the-art hospital and pharmacy practice labs and by participating in various field placement opportunities.

Intra- and Inter-professional simulation activities blend health care with education to provide students scenarios that help prepare participants for the real-world environment.
