Doctor of Accounting and Finance programme involves working with research supervisors to develop projects that shape theory, policy, and practice in the fields of accounting and finance. Under the guidance of two supervisors, students undertake empirical or theoretical research aimed at generating new knowledge in a chosen field and are required to produce either a series of journal articles or a thesis of up to 80,000 words.
Previous PhD research topics have included corporate governance disclosures, stock market development and inequality, behavioural factors affecting financial stock returns, computational analysis and experimentation, and the main determinants of audit fees in the UK FTSE 250.
