University Pathways Fast Track at RMIT UP is an accelerated pathway designed for high-achieving international students, preparing them for university in half the time of a Foundation Studies course. Delivered over one semester by RMIT UP (CRICOS provider number: 01912G), a fully owned entity of RMIT University, the program equips students with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for future academic success.

Located in the heart of Melbourne, RMIT UP’s specialist staff support students throughout their journey, while providing opportunities to build global and social networks that contribute to success at RMIT and beyond.

To ensure students get the best start to their studies, RMIT offers careers counselling, as well as academic and welfare support services that can be accessed flexibly.

University Pathways Fast Track features focused, discipline-based streams, allowing students to align their studies with their interests and goals. Available streams include STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), Art, Design and Architecture, Business, and Communication and Social Context.

University Diploma - Apparel, Fashion and Textiles (C5444) (119921D) RMIT’s textile design program is a practical, studio-based course that provides access to state-of-the-art facilities and industry-connected instructors, enabling students to expand their textile skills and knowledge.

Students learn to design and create knitted, woven and printed fabrics, as well as textile products for a range of applications including fashion, interiors, homewares, craft and commercial contexts.

Throughout the program, students develop their creative practice through drawing, painting and illustration; studio-based classes in print, knit and weave; design and concept development; and the creation of experimental textile samples using diverse materials and processes. They also build knowledge of textiles and contemporary sustainable practices, and learn to present concepts using computer-aided design techniques.

With a strong focus on industry standards, students have opportunities to develop textile collections that meet technical and market requirements. The program also explores the broader textile industry, including sustainability and innovation, clean manufacturing, circular systems, digital technologies and ethical considerations.
