Sheridan College - Davis
Sheridan College's Computer Systems Technician – Information Technology Infrastructure and Services diploma program emphasizes hands-on IT learning via labs, simulators and projects. As a balanced offering, part of the program covers "soft skills" such as customer support, team-based work, leadership, entrepreneurship and communication. Information Technology Infrastructure and Services professionals play a critical role in today's technology-driven economy, helping end users work effectively with complex hardware, software, networks and websites using sophisticated tools and applications. Paid co-op work placements provide valuable IT support experience and professional contacts, while offsetting educational costs. Enrolment is limited through an additional selection process. Students receive direct experience in all areas of client and server hardware, software and networking, including: • Network design and maintenance • Operating systems and databases • Website design • Call tracking and customer service • Network security • Virtualization and cloud computing
