The REF2021 results demonstrate a substantial increase in the proportion of research outputs rated as “world-leading” or “internationally excellent” compared to the previous REF exercise in 2014. The research environment within the Unit has also been acknowledged as 75% “world-leading” and 25% “internationally excellent.”
