What you will study

The BA (Hons) Journalism with Content Creation at the University of West London prepares students for careers ranging from national newsrooms to specialist media in areas such as sport, fashion, health, business or music.

This course goes beyond traditional journalism by embracing contemporary content production, including multi-platform journalism and digital, social media-first storytelling. Students will explore and master the mediums of modern journalism while developing the skills needed to succeed in a fast-paced digital media environment.

Students will benefit from industry-led teaching by expert staff and develop their skills in professionally equipped TV and radio studios. They will learn to produce industry-standard news and features, broadcast live for news and current affairs programmes across TV, radio and online platforms, and create social-first journalism content such as TikTok explainers and mobile short features.

Students will also gain experience across a range of journalistic formats, including podcasting, photojournalism, e-zines, online news and documentary production.

The course aims to equip students with the skills needed to build a rewarding and flexible career in the journalism and media industry.
