Accounting is the language of business and is used to explain the financial results of companies that range from small business to Fortune 500 companies in size. At Highline, in accounting will prepare students for work in a variety of career paths by introducing them to accounting fundamentals such as bookkeeping, tax preparation, and payroll.
Accounting majors wishing to transfer to a business school at a 4-year college or university complete an Associate of Business (DTA/MRP) degree. This degree will provide the preferred general education requirements that will prepare students to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business at a 4-year college or university.
