Master of Science - Strategic Business Management with Professional Practice

The Master’s in Strategic Business Management programme provides students with an excellent grounding in the key aspects of business and management faced by organisations today. Designed with input from successful business professionals and covering a range of modules, the course ensures that students develop a strong foundation for their professional careers.

The programme is accredited by The Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Students have the option to register as CMI members and may be eligible to receive the CMI Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice upon successful completion of the programme. It is also recognised as an ‘Accredited Degree’ by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), enabling students to obtain industry-recognised qualifications at an accelerated pace.

The learning experience within this programme is supported by academics with extensive industry expertise who teach in workshop-style classes to encourage interaction and personalised learning. Students apply theoretical concepts of business management to real-life case studies and have opportunities to engage with professional bodies and employers.

This course is offered as a two-year full-time master’s programme in business. The first year is shared with the one-year MSc Strategic Business Management, while the second year focuses on Professional Practice, designed specifically to enhance students’ employment opportunities.

Providing greater flexibility than a traditional placement year, the Professional Practice Year allows students to choose how to apply their skills in practice. Options include completing an academic dissertation, developing a business plan, undertaking a business or consultancy project, or participating in a paid placement in industry, depending on the path that best aligns with their future career goals.
