Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Journalism

Nottingham Trent University - City Campus

What you will study

Program Description Digital technology has revolutionised the way people consume information, and journalists play a vital role in gathering information and reporting on unfolding world events, current affairs, politics, sport and entertainment across multiple platforms, to meet people's increasingly voracious appetite for real-time news.

Nottingham Trent University's BA (Hons) in Journalism has been developed in close association with major media organisations to provide an industry-recognised qualification that is highly valued by employers. The course is accredited by the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) and, while on the course students will sit NCTJ exams, leading to the NCTJ Diploma. All fees for these exams are included in the course costs.

As well as the traditional skills of writing for newspapers and magazines, interviewing, media law, politics and shorthand, students will be given digital skills including writing for online, the use of social media in journalism, and creating and using video content. Students will also gain a range of transferable skills that can be used in a range of media industries from public relations to communication officers.
