The Biology, B.S. with a Molecular Biology concentration allows students to undertake cutting-edge independent research with our faculty scientists, and gain real-world experience through internships at leading facilities such as Pfizer, MIT, New York-Presbyterian, and more.
The degree includes a core curriculum in humanities and research principles and practices, followed by coursework in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, cell biology, evolutionary biology, general and organic chemistry, physics, and calculus.
With the concentration in Molecular Biology, students will choose from electives in areas such as virology, genetic engineering, immunology, pharmacology, and more, allowing them to prepare for a career in biotechnology, genetics, biomedical research, and more.
Students will get critical experience through internships at metropolitan area hospitals such as Columbia University Medical Center and New York-Presbyterian Hospital and pharmaceutical companies like Advanced Biotech, Boheringer Ingleheim, and Pfizer.
