If students hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, but don’t meet the entry requirements for a master’s, a Pre-Master’s can help them gain a place on a postgraduate degree. For progression to the 1st year of a postgraduate degree at the University of Essex. Course length is determined mainly by students' English language level (UKVI IELTS score).
Students on all course lengths take a set of common or similar modules to gain a solid base of skills for university. If their course is longer than 2 terms, students will take additional modules designed to improve one or more of their English language level, academic skills, and basic knowledge of particular subjects.
Master of Science - Accounting Accounting at the University of Essex goes well beyond the preparation of financial statements. They teach students to be accountable, act ethically and make financial decisions that positively impact both organisations and society.
This course will advance student knowledge of accounting in both depth and scope. Students are taught at Essex Business School, champions of ethical management and sustainable business and ranked 25th in the UK for research quality (The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019). They believe accounting information is the foundation for successful decision-making and further develops their practical accounting skills and theoretical knowledge, so they can make a positive impact in the workplace.
Students explore the changing role and perception of accounting within shifting global markets. Essex takes a critical view of both financial reporting and management accounting, so that students can be perfectly placed to lead financial decision-making in their chosen industry. Students work with students and staff from across the globe, preparing them to work in international markets; Essex's Masters students currently joined from more than 40 countries.
